Sister Moon Library
Welcome to my growing collection of trusted books, conversations, and practices that continue to shape my understanding of cyclical living.
This is a thoughtfully curated library of the resources I return to throughout different seasons of my cycle and different seasons of my life.
I hope you use them to awaken curiosity and invite healing. Some will challenge you to grow…while others remind you to slow down, be still and listen.
Rather than consuming information endlessly, I believe in returning to wisdom when it's needed most. My hope is that these trusted companions help you cultivate a deeper relationship with yourself, your body & the subtle initiations of womanhood.
The library will continue to grow over time, and I'm so glad you're here at the beginning.
Seasons of Your Cycle…
FOLLICULAR
The Follicular season invites us into curiosity, creativity, play, and possibility. This is the season I return to when I want to learn something new, dream a little bigger, follow a spark of inspiration, or reconnect with the part of myself that still knows how to wonder. These are the resources I reach for when I'm ready to explore what might be possible.
Wonder & Becoming
In the FLO
- Alisa Vitti
I return to this book for its practical framework for living in greater alignment with the four phases of the infradian rhythm. It helped me see that working with my cycle could extend beyond tracking symptoms…it could influence how I approach food, movement, work, relationships, and the way I use my energy throughout the month.
Woman Code
- Alisa Vitti
This was one of the books that opened the door for me into understanding the female body as cyclical. I appreciate the way Alisa Vitti connects hormones, nutrition, lifestyle, and everyday choices, giving women practical ways to begin paying attention to what their bodies are communicating.
OVULATION
Ovulation is a season of connection, nourishment, and outward energy. It invites us to gather, collaborate, share what we have, and participate in the relationships and communities that sustain us. But nourishment is never meant to flow in only one direction. This is also a season for remembering how to receive, to be held, fed, supported, and cared for. The resources in this section explore reciprocity, community, nourishment, and the wisdom of caring for one another.
Connection & Expression
The First Forty Days
- Heng Ou, Amely Greeven, Marisa Belger
I love this book for its beautiful reminder that nourishment is not something we are meant to provide only for ourselves. The first forty days after birth are treated as a sacred window for being held, fed, supported, and cared for while a woman crosses a profound threshold into motherhood.
For me, that wisdom reaches far beyond postpartum. It reminds us that transformation requires nourishment…and that there are seasons of life when receiving care is just as important as giving it.
LUTEAL
The Luteal season invites us inward: to refine, discern, and strengthen our relationship with ourselves. It is a powerful time for honest reflection, tending to what needs attention, and building the strength of character that carries us through the initiations of womanhood. Here we celebrate the wisdom of the women who paved the way before us, while gathering the courage to become the women we are still becoming.
Transformation
Vagina Obscura
- Rachel E. Gross
I love this book for its exploration of how deeply our culture has misunderstood, overlooked, and sometimes dismissed the cyclical female body. It invites us to question what we've been taught and become more curious about the remarkable biology of our bodies.
Woman’s Mysteries, Ancient & Modern
- M. Esther Harding
This book explores the deeper relationship women have to mystery—the inner, symbolic, spiritual, and psychological dimensions of being a woman. I return to it as a reminder that there are forms of knowing that cannot always be measured or explained, but can be experienced, felt, and lived.
Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life
- Dr. Claudia Welch, MSOM
I appreciate this book as a resource for looking at hormonal health through multiple lenses. It offers an opportunity to compare Western science with the perspectives of Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, and to consider where these traditions meet, differ, and offer useful ways of understanding the hormonal body.
MENSTRUAL
The Menstrual season invites us to slow down, listen inward, and make space for the wisdom that rises when we stop striving. This is the season of the inner Crone; the part of us that knows how to reflect, discern, integrate, and trust what she already knows. These are the books, practices, and voices I return to when I want to listen more deeply, reconnect with my intuition, and make space for the woman I am becoming.
Listening & Wisdom
The Great Cosmic Mother
- Monica Sjoo, Barbara Mor
Dense with ancient wisdom that calls from deep to deep. This is a book to approach slowly, with care and dedication…to read, return to, and discover something new in again and again. It invites a deeper remembering of the feminine and the mysteries that have always lived within us.
